« God knows us deeply. He knows our thoughts, our movements, our rest, our inner struggles, and even the realities that we are unable to express. Sometimes we may feel alone, misunderstood, or forgotten. Yet no situation can separate us from His presence. The psalmist proclaims it powerfully: even beyond the seas, even in the depths, God’s hand guides us and holds us. We are never beyond the reach of God’s love. »
What is truly a priority in our lives? The call of Christ, to which we responded through our baptism, does not simply ask us to add the pursuit of the Kingdom of Heaven to our list of priorities. It asks that this pursuit become the priority from which all other things are evaluated. This does not mean irresponsibly abandoning our duties. It simply means that we must no longer allow our occupations, even legitimate ones, to take the place of God.
We are in the midst of this battle, but we must make our choice. Will we listen to the angel of God or to the demon who rebelled against Him? Who do we usually listen to? It is a relentless battle. The angel cannot force us to do what is right; we must choose. However, we can become aware of his presence, speak to him, and listen to him. We can make his mission easier by doing what he inspires us to do.
